How does a DC/DC EV charger work?
A conventional DC fast charger is powered by an AC grid connection and converts alternating current into direct current for the electric vehicle’s battery. When a battery energy storage system is used as the energy source, this can result in multiple conversion stages.
A DC/DC EV charger connects directly to the DC side of the energy system. Energy from a high-voltage battery, solar panels or other DC sources can therefore be used to charge an electric vehicle directly.
